BYATA is the Backpacker, Youth and Adventure Tourism Association, representing businesses across New Zealand that work with and support the youth and adventure travel market.
We are primarily an advocacy organisation, working to influence policy and decision-makers in ways that create the best possible environment for our members and the wider youth tourism sector to succeed.
From responding to immediate policy changes to developing long-term positions on Working Holiday Visas, immigration, tourism marketing investment, freedom camping, accommodation, legislation and regulation, we make sure the youth and adventure tourism sector has a voice.

Full Membership
$445
per year + GST
- Annual payment in full, or
- Quarterly direct debit payments of $111.25 + GST
Small to Medium Enterprise (SME)
$249
per year + GST
- Designed for smaller businesses
- Annual payment in full, or quarterly direct debit payments of $62.25 + GST
SME definition: annual business turnover up to $1,000,000.
