BYATA is open to any operator in the Backpacking, Youth and Adventure Travel Tourism sector in New Zealand.
The primary function of BYATA is to provide an advocacy forum for its members.
BYATA provides a number of services that add value to our members, and their businesses including; unlimited website access to receive the most up-to-date information on our Industry, regular communications are sent out via e-Newsletter and Facebook, on what is hot (and what's not) in our Industry. We include Advocacy topics such as Freedom Camping, Tourism Levy's, Tax and Legislation changes, AirBnB, Immigration and Tourism NZ updates. We provide relevant trade information direct from government-based industries such as MBIE, Qualmark & Tourism NZ in order to make the right decisions for your business.
BYATA is made up of 130+ members who are represented from the Activity, Accommodation, Transport, Tour and Tourism service-related sectors, mainly catering at the Youth and Adventure markets. We run at least 10 Board Meetings per year (around the country) to discuss the issues we face. These meetings are governed by our Officers (Chair & Vice-Chair) alongside another 10 Board Members.
We host an Annual Conference full of insightful, fun and motivating speakers to inform us about the Industry. Our Members say its the best Conference they have ever been to, as it's tourism related and resonates well with their own business. A great opportunity to share thoughts and ideas with our peers and a great Networking opportunity that essentially provides a discussion forum for our industry.
A 12-month BYATA membership will put you amongst an exclusive group of parties supporting the New Zealand backpacker and youth sector and provides access to:

Annual Membership Fees are $395 per year +GST. Payment can be made in full or quarterly per year via direct debit at $98.75 + GST per quarter. This provides you the Membership rate for the Conference each year, keeps you up to date with the Membership Communications via our bi-monthly e-Newsletter, Closed Facebook Group & Unlimited Website Access. A BYATA Membership offers you research including the monthly Youth Arrivals from Tourism New Zealand and our Benchmarking Project, plus allows you to take part in our local Steering Group meetings to discuss advocacy and Industry-related issues we're currently facing.

This new introductory offer provides small to medium enterprises (SME) the opportunity to trial the benefits of BYATA at a heavily discounted rate in their first year. $199 +GST with monthly payment options available.
