Driving is an important part of the visitor experience in New Zealand, allowing travellers to explore our regions and communities. However, unfamiliar roads, changing conditions and different driving rules can create challenges for international visitors.
BYATA supports initiatives that help visitors understand New Zealand's road rules, make informed decisions and travel safely throughout their journey.
BYATA's Role
BYATA does not undertake direct delivery of road safety programmes. We support the work of Tourism Industry Aotearoa (TIA) and relevant road safety initiatives, and encourage members to stay informed about resources that can help educate and prepare international visitors for driving in New Zealand.
